The good: The Commerce Department said wholesale inventories in February rose by
0.6 percent, while sales rose by 0.8 percent, both the expectations mentioned
above. Rising commodity prices also gave stocks a boost. Cut bad: Fitch religion of Greece, and a reminder that the country's financial crisis is not over yet. Non-sulfur ugly: the Dow Jones industrial average briefly above 11,000 for the first time in 18 months. The major stock indexes rose for the sixth week in a row. The Dow Jones the past six weeks in a row win in April 2009. |
