9.6. Presentation of Objects.

This option is found in the Preferences menu and contains the following items:
Advertising Tooltips:
A checkbox that when checked, means that NVDA will announce tooltips as they appear. In Windows, for example, is shown in a short message (or tip) when you move the mouse pointer over any tools, or sometimes when you move the focus to them. With this option, NVDA speaks these messages or hints.
Advertising Help Balloons:
A checkbox that when checked, means that NVDA will announce the help balloons so that they appear. Balloon help tips are like, but are generally larger in size and are associated with system events, such as a cable network being removed, or perhaps to alert you to security issues of Windows.
Advertising Keyboard Shortcuts for objects:
A checkbox that when checked, means that NVDA will announce an object or control, including shortcut keys that are associated with them.
Advertising Overview of Objects:
Uncheck this option if you think you do not need to hear the description that is announced along with the objects.
Tell State Object first.:
A checkbox that when checked, means that NVDA will announce the state of an object before any other information. For example, a button with a name "Play" and a state "down" will be known as "pressed the Play button "instead of" Play button pressed. This option is sometimes useful if you are going through several objects of the same type and are only interested in whether or not they are pressed or activated, etc..
Beep in the Progress Bar:
A progress bar is a control that looks a bit like a ruler. While a task is slowly being completed, this bar is being filled. It also shows the percentage to represent numerically the progress. Progress bars are presented for situations such as when a Web page is opening, when you are receiving emails, or processing a sound file, etc.. If this box is checked, NVDA uses beeps to let you know at what point is the progress bar as it is being filled. Sometimes this is much more interesting than listening to a lot of numbers.
9.7. Virtual Exhibitors.

This option is found in the Preferences menu. Note that many of the options in this dialog box can only affect older buffers (used for Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader). In future versions of NVDA, this problem should be solved.

This dialog box contains the following options:
Maximum Characters On Line:

This field sets the maximum length of a line of virtual buffer (in characters). Not guaranteed that all lines will have this maximum length, but most should be.
Lines per page.
Although virtual buffers do not have pages, this field sets the number of lines that will be moved to the press Page Up or Page Down, when in a virtual buffer.
Announce Presentation of Virtual Viewer when the focus changes:
When checked, this dialog box causes the text will announce and display information in a virtual buffer to control, as is given focus, rather than simply ask for the Windows control information. For example, navigating with Tab for a link called "Cats" will be spoken "link cats" instead of "cats" link, because in virtual buffers, when moving through them, the type is always called before the text. It may be desirable in some cases, not having this option checked, since this means that the control will be announced in an order somewhat better. However, for some browsers, you may receive more accurate information when it option is enabled.
Update Dynamic Content:
When this box is checked, virtual buffers can be updated as the page changes, due to Java Script. Currently, NVDA updater only supports dynamic content for Mozilla Firefox, but is expected to be also supported for Internet Explorer in future versions.
Ads Particular Fields:
The eleven other checkboxes in this dialog box allows you to configure what type of information that will be announced when moving by exhibitors (buffers) virtual. For example, check announce linques will be told that the word "link" "before any text that is a link. You can configure the ad links, headers, graphics, lists, list items, tables, forms, form fields, block quotes, Freimer and paragraphs.
9.8. Document Formatting.

This dialog box is found in the Preferences menu. All the checkboxes in this dialog box are designed to configure what type of formatting you want to hear automatically as you move the cursor by documents such as Wordpad or Microsoft Word. For example, if you check the box "advertising source name", every time you navigate with the arrow with a text a different font, the font name will be announced. You can configure the NVDA to announce the name of the font, font size, font attributes, text alignment, text style, tables, page numbers and line numbers.
