A Nashville businessman pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to failing to turn over to the Internal Revenue Service $141,739 that he collected from passengers of a charter jet company that he runs, officials said.

Frank D. Frazier Sr., chief executive of Nashville Jet Charters Inc., was ordered by a Nashville magistrate judge to pay $182,326, but will end up paying more once penalties and interests are added. He also was sentenced to 60 days in prison plus a year under supervised release.

Between January 1998 and September 2002, Frazier didn't forward federal air passenger excise taxes quarterly or file timely returns with the IRS, the agency said.

Nashville Jet Charters is based at Nashville International Airport. Frazier couldn't be reached for comment.
