January 16, 2009 NASHVILLE -- Metro detectives charged a 20-year-old with two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated robbery for a home invasion in South Nashville. It happened on Nov. 23 on Jessie Drive near Paragon Mills Park, according to a Metro police news release. Police said Demorian Bays was identified as one of four armed suspects who rushed the two victims. The victims were returning home and the suspects forced them inside the home and robbed them. Police said two suspects held them at the home while the other pair went to an ATM to withdraw money. Bays is also suspected of a home invasion robbery and kidnapping on the same day in West Nashville. Five masked gunmen entered the Harding Place home through an unlocked door and forced the homeowner, his adult daughter and her boyfriend into the homeowner's sports utility vehicle. The victims were taken to two ATMs to withdraw money before they were released. Detectives recovered the Toyota Highlander on Dec. 2 near Hillside Avenue. Detectives charged 21-year-old parolee Antonio Harris with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping in connection for the Harding Place case. Bays was free on $10,500 bond as the result of his arrest in December on felony and misdemeanor assault charges. He is now being held in lieu of $460,000 bond. |
