Purpose - Mission Statement

If this is the first time you are visiting this site, you're probably thinking..."Hmmm...This looks a lot like the Drudge Report." Well, you are right. Matt Drudge has always had the vision of "citizen reporters" all over the country using the Internet as a medium of getting news out to the public.  One night, several months ago, I was listening to Drudge's radio show, and a woman was wanting him to put something up on his website to get information out regarding an issue she was very passionate about. He bluntly told her to do it herself. He went on and told her that she could make a difference herself...why not take a step out of your comfort zone and do it. This is what I'm doing.

Over the years, I've always been interested in "what's going on" around me. Reading the news, studying the news, and trying to find the truths behind the fiction. Most of all, I've always wanted to do something that made a difference. I've wanted to let people see what's going on around them. I want to provide information.

These pages are for the Middle Tennessee/Nashville Metro region. That's what I will focus on with the stories I provide and link to.  I won't be limited to that, though. There are many larger issues that affect us all, and I will post those if it is necessary. 

I won't deny the fact that I am a conservative. To deny that would mean that I would be betraying who I am. However, I believe that I can use these pages to give people information so that they can make up their minds themselves. If you disagree with the way I go about doing it, then you can simply go somewhere else. It's that simple. This is something that is wonderful about this country...you have the freedom of choice. Use it.  

Here's my vision for this site:  1) Provide a "jumping point" to other sites with news related information. 2) Provide links to important news stories in the Middle Tennessee area. 3) Provide my own stories and commentary on important news stories. 4) Provide balanced views. 5) Allow people to make up their minds without having ideas forced upon them.  

Something I'm not planning on doing with this is making money. I have a job that I am happy with, and I am just simply doing this to make a difference.  If I ever decide to use advertisements on this page, I will probably go with one banner at the top of the page. That will be all.  You won't be getting popups from here...I promise. If you feel so inclined, click on the advertisement. If not, then you will again be exercising your freedom of choice.

How can you help? Contribute. Not monetarily, but by being my "eyes" and "ears" out there. If you know of news, let me know. If I think it will benefit this site, I'll use it. If not, thanks anyway...because I will appreciate all contributions.  

Other ways you can help is to tell everyone you know about this site, set this as your start page, use it as a source of information and news, and send me your comments. Maybe we can take this somewhere.  If it doesn't work out...then at least I had a good time.
