Acquisitive tech firm rebrands PDF Print E-mail

Local technology holding company ISDN-Net has rebranded itself as The Nexus Group Inc.

"We were reluctant to drop our original name, because it was under that brand that we earned our customers' trust for 14 years," said CEO Jerry Dunlap, who helped found ISDN-Net in 1994. "The time is now right."

Dunlap said the name change will better enable his team to invest in ventures – like data-center and disaster-recovery services – that extend the company's reach beyond its historical Internet Service Provider base.

Dunlap has had a busy 2008 so far. In March, he acquired a Knoxville ISP. Last week, he announced a deal for eNtegrity Solutions, a local IT security consulting firm headed by Frank Platt.
