Acquisition marks company's third sale in three years
Host.net has acquired WV Fiber, a local Internet infrastructure company.

WV Fiber provides high-speed IP exchanges for companies all over the country, including Iris and XO Communications in Nashville. Florida-based Host.net hopes to flesh out its national fiber-optics network with WV Fiber, which has over 20 points of connection worldwide.

"We are thrilled about the impact the acquisition of WV Fiber will have on Host.net,” said Randy Epstein, Host.net’s co-founder and chief integration officer.

WV Fiber has exchanged hands three times since the company filed for bankruptcy protection in 2005 to relieve itself of unprofitable vendor contracts. In 2006, Wilhagan Ventures Inc. sold the company to Integrated Media Holdings Inc., which ceded the company to Ultra Global Investments, Inc. last November.
