Fred Thompson to replace O'Reilly on radio  E-mail
Former Tennessee Senator, actor and 2008 presidential candidate Fred Thompson will replace political rabble rouser Bill O'Reilly on the radio airwaves.
Thompson’s new radio show will replace The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly on March 2, 2009. O’Reilly’s show has had a six-year run.

The Fred Thompson Show will feature Thompson sharing his views on politics, pop culture and water cooler stories about the issues of the day. The show will feature guest interviews and take listener calls.

The show is produced by Westwood One, the largest independent provider of network radio programming in the United States.

The Fred Thompson Show will air live from noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday from the Westwood One studios in Washington D.C.

"When folks listen to a radio show, they make an appointment with it. It is the ideal way for me to continue my dialog with America about the issues we all face each day," says Thompson in a news release.

Thompson, a native of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., has appeared in numerous movies and television programs, including “No Way Out,” “In the Line of Fire,” “Die Hard II,” “Days of Thunder” and “The Hunt for Red October.”

More recently, he’s been recognized for his portrayal of New York District Attorney Arthur Branch on the Emmy Award-winning NBC drama, “Law & Order.”
