Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed forward Hugh Jessiman to a one year, two-way contract.

Jessiman was acquired from the New York Rangers for future considerations on Oct. 30, 2008, and proceeded to post 27 points, including an AHL career-high 20 goals, in 63 games with Milwaukee. His goal total and power-play goal total (9) both ranked second on the Western Division Champion Admirals.

The Rangers’ first pick (12th overall) in the 2003 Entry Draft, Jessiman has amassed 101 points (52g-49a) in 235 career AHL games with Hartford and Milwaukee since 2005-06. The 6-6, 231-pound right wing played three seasons at Dartmouth (ECAC) before turning pro, notching 82 points (40g-42a) in 82 games. In 2002-03, the New York, N.Y., native led the nation in rookie scoring with 47 points (23g-24a) in 34 games.

Jessiman and the Admirals begin the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs on Thursday, April 16th at 7:00 pm versus the Rockford IceHogs at the Bradley center.
