The Music City Bowl, an event that generated $12.6 million for the local economy in 2009, has agreed to a three-year contract extension with college football’s most dominant conference. The Southeastern Conference has agreed to send a team to the game through the 2013 season. Officials said the SEC partnership makes strategic sense because it maximizes fan interest and travel to Nashville for the annual postseason game in December. In December, bowl officials announced that Franklin American Mortgage Company was taking over the title sponsorship for the game from Gaylord Hotels. |
