The Nashville Sounds have gotten final league approval for a purchase by MFP Baseball.

MFP partners Steve Posner and Frank Ward will formally announce the approval this afternoon, as well as outline plans for management and facilities. They have already been working on improvements to Greer Stadium in time for the AAA franchise’s season opener April 9 against the New Orleans Zephyrs.

The purchase agreement, first announced in October, had to be approved by the Pacific Coast League and Minor League Baseball, and get a sign-off by Major League Baseball.

MFP Baseball partners have been seeking final approval since reaching the October agreement to buy the team.
