Reading and Writing in Time Production Technology  E-mail
I was in Bauru (SP) in the month of September (2009), at Planet Education, conducting workshops for teachers of municipal schools of this beautiful city of Sao Paulo. In four days we had 2 hours between 50 and 80 people at each meeting and the impact was very positive, as we see after every lecture, from the comments of the participants.

It is certainly a very exciting topic, which creates doubts and also causes some controversy. Anyway, as all matters relating to education and technology, there is much to do and learn. I still assume that these days you need to socialize what we are studying, reading, learning from the work we do and at the same time, we are always careful and ears open, ready to learn also ...

I enjoyed the presentation not only that he had prepared on transparencies, the result of materials produced for both the planet and Education for choosing the Red Pill, but also materials that are in magazines this month and strengthen the presence of social networks in the life and work people. Twitter was a major attraction since it is in evidence and many people still do not know and show great interest in the tool.

Participation in the Seminar Info, in Sao Paulo, on September 21, 2009 (Monday), also gave subsidies to lectures. I am pointing out that people and major companies have their eye on platforms and features like Twitter, Flickr, Orkut, Facebook, YouTube and all the social tools.

Emphasizing that the younger generations are moving into these resources and leaving behind a few structures and programs they consider outdated, although they are obviously very useful, such as e-mails and Web sites that promote interactivity, the ability of people to talk with peers (friends, relatives, work colleagues ...).

In any case, as the focus is the relationship between reading and writing with technology, I tried to emphasize that despite some difficulties - in particular the issue of changes in the language by young people, adolescents and children might lead to the emergence of a new dialect, the Internet - should not lead arm falls between teachers and students.

A general understanding of experts indicates that there is no way to get to grips with this new language (which is characterized especially by abbreviations such as "you", "flw" or "blz), it is a global phenomenon that affects all languages, not just the Portuguese ...

In this sense it is important to adopt another strategy ... A posture in which we admit the existence of this language, but at the same time, we advocate that there are places where you can use it, such as IM chats (MSN, Skype), while in school or at work, we emphasize that we need to know and use the standard form of language ...

Now more important is to note that despite this particular difficulty, the meeting between school and technology should be celebrated and lived through the merger of methodologies and resources, ie, use all this curiosity and interest among the younger generations about the social networks and all media now existing or arising on the website and channels through which classes, exercises, group work, readings and any type of educational activity to be advertised, provided and used as a means of exchange and exchange between teachers and students, groups of students, teachers from different schools and networks ...

Reading a book for students of any age, for example, can generate the emergence of such actions as recorded by audio or video, the production of posts on blogs or websites for teachers and schools, organization of tasks to be quick answered on Twitter ...

There are many possibilities of linking content data in the classroom with the tools offered by technology ... With this, of course, teachers are closer to their students, create more empathy for students with discipline, have real interest and energy to spare by his pupils in carrying out actions ... That is, there are many gains to view ... Among them, only to close this article, they end up taking their students to plan, read, write, and certainly with this, improve their communication skills and relationships ...

Note: I thank the Department of Education and educators from public schools in Bauru, the team of IT Education Planet Education Planet and the team that works on the project in Bauru the invitation and opportunity to be present in the city to present these lectures.
