Quinta da Paiva / Biological Park of Lousa result of a partnership between ADFP and the Municipality of Miranda do Corvo. In 2007 this project won the 1st Prize at National Competition for the European Enterprise Awards / International Award for Entrepreneurship, the Investment in People category, awarded by the Ministry of Economy / IAPMEI. The aim is to project a sustainable economic and environmental terms and that provides social cohesion. The aim is to create employment and occupational activities for people suffering exclusion, long-term unemployed, disabled or chronically ill, integrating, promoting equality and human dignity, encouraging biophilia and passion for nature. The ADFP is developing the project "≠ = Mind" to assist the person with severe mental illness, for which the natural environment of the Quinta da Paiva, linked to animals Biological Park, creates a protected environment, naturally integrated. Work undertaken in the Living Museum of Traditional Arts and Crafts (pottery, weaving, basketry and wicker) are opportunities for integration of people with various types of disability or chronic illness. The Equestrian Center as well as a recreational activity and sport, generates jobs for the treatment of horses, promotes hippotherapy and riding adapted. The proof of success is a Knight of the Equestrian Center have represented Portugal in Athens in 2004, the first national representation in the Paralympic Games. Tourists can not only enjoy themselves, further biophilia, fall in love with nature, learning to value the environment, to support a project that integrates disabled workers, joining the ecobiótica therapeutic purposes as hippotherapy with disabilities and occupational therapy with people mental illness.
